The Green Shows during the New York Fashion week proved that Fall 2012 will be anything but dull. Despite the limitations of using organic fabrics, natural dyes, vintage hardware and local manufacturing, eco designers created collections vibrant in color, print and design. Eco-fashion can no longer be separated from the tech that is making it possible: the featured designers used zero-waste seamless knitting technology and nonpolluting Air Dye technology among numerous others. Fabrics shown on the runway included Alpaca, organic cotton, silk, linen and hemp, recycled leather and bamboo. The resulting aesthetic ranged from urban chic to safari punk, creating a must-have appeal for the eco-nistas in all of us.
